Administrative Assistant

A highly respected funeral home in Paramus, NJ is currently seeking and administrative assistant to join their team. This position is full time, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm as well as a shift every other weekend. This is a temporary to permanent position, set to start immediately.

Location: Paramus, NJ

Salary: Up to $18/HR

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Answer phone calls and redirect when necessary
  • Process paperwork and place orders
  • Oversee that all checks prepared and orders have been placed to ensure smooth daily operation
  • Undertake occasional receptionist duties
  • Creating, editing and placement of obituaries
  • General office copying and scanning
  • Creating various correspondence documents, as well as editing and proofreading
  • Inventory management and ordering supplies

Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Experience as a secretary or administrative assistant
  • Compassionate and understanding with client families
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to learn company specific software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS office
  • Excellent computer and typing skills
  • Available to work every other weekend
  • Willingness to learn new technology
  • Strong command to write and edit English
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour
